- The thickness of bit is always measured just inside bit ring. When placed in horse's mouth, there should be max. 5mm (1/4" play on either side of the bit.

Horze Rubber Mullen Mouth Pelham Bit with 15mm mouth and 100mm cheeks is designed for horses that require more precise control. The mild, rubber mullen style mouthpiece is well tolerated by most horses. It offers consistent pressure across the horse’s tongue and bars, while encouraging chewing and increasing salivation, which helps to relax the jaw.
Pelham bits like this one allow more precise control by mimicking the effects of both a snaffle and curb bit. Pelham bits are designed to be used with two reins; the snaffle rein is attached at the mouthpiece, while the curb rein is attached at the lower ring. Alternatively, a single rein may be used with a bit converter.
